Our mission is to support your hockey development in an engaging, fun, and measurable way.

We empower beginner to intermediate hockey players in Edmonton to develop skills and elevate their game in a supportive, structured environment.

We love hockey as much as you! We've been through the highs and the lows, from the ice to the locker room. Because we understand the experience, it's our goal to elevate your game as a whole, wherever you are in your hockey journey.

Our Program Director and Head Coach

Meet our head coach and program director, Jon Coughlan — a guy who brings a ton of experience, a whole lot of energy, and just the right amount of chirps.

With over a decade of coaching under his belt — including Tier-1 U-18 body contact hockey — he's certified through Hockey Canada and knows how to develop talent both on and off the ice. Oh, and he still plays the game himself, so he’s not just coaching from the bench — he’s out there living it. (Fun fact: if NHL scouts had been paying closer attention, we might be calling him “Coach Pro” instead.)

But his leadership skills don’t stop at the rink. Before stepping into this role, he spent 27 years as an executive in policing, leading major units like drug and gang enforcement and tactical teams. So yeah, he knows a thing or two about handling pressure, building strong teams, and leading with purpose.

He’s also coached soccer, basketball, and lacrosse — which means if it involves a game, a team, and a goal, he’s probably coached it.

Professional, passionate, and a whole lot of fun — we're lucky to have him leading the way.

The coaching team was supportive and made me feel welcome as a beginner player. Highly recommend!

Coach Jon is the best coach I've ever had! Hockey Launchpad helped me improve significantly. Truly grateful!
